Welcome to Upward Bound Camp! We are so glad you are here!
Partnering with us.
Upward Bound Camp is licensed through the state of Oregon to provide Relief Care services to campers and families through OR507! We know that it is critical for your customers to have opportunities to get out of their home environment, connect with peers, practice social skills, and try something new…and we know that camp is a powerful and fun way to do just that!
Do you know someone who might be interested in overnight camps? We would love to meet them!
Making the magic happen.
Yay! Your customer is interested…now what? Send a current ISP and service agreement to ISP@upwardboundcamp.org for review. Our team will take a look and connect with any questions or concerns. In the meantime, you can work with the family to understand what camp is all about and fill out the online registration for the summer!

A Note About Billing
We will bill for your camper at the end of their stay with us. Please ensure they have an active service agreement that covers the dates of camp attendance. We will enter their time with us through the DHS eXPRS system using code OR507. To avoid overlaps of time that result in suspension of service delivered entries, we ask that you please inform your drivers and caregivers to please clock out at the time of check-in at 11am and check-out at 11am so that we are able to bill in the appropriate 24hr time period. Since we are a non-profit organization, every day that we cannot bill because of overlaps makes it challenging for us to run camp operations. Thank you for helping us make sure we are able to continue to support your campers!

We serve teens and adults ages 12 and up with diverse abilities! It is our goal to make camp as accessible as possible to campers who are not typically afforded the opportunity to attend overnight camps. Our campers are diverse in ability, ethnicity, language, cultural background, religion, and more but all are created uniquely and purposely and are worthy of love and caring service!

Currently we provide 12+ weeks of camp programs during the summer months and limited off season day camps and celebrations. We also offer small camper retreats on an as needed basis throughout the fall, winter, and spring to interested campers.
We seek to offer individualized support to meet the specific needs of each camper who comes to share life with us. We are well suited to support campers who need assistance with ADLs such as toileting, showering, mealtime support, dressing, etc. We seek to provide social support whenever possible to foster healthy relationships within our community. Furthermore, we have a nurse and recreational therapist on staff allowing us to care for most medical needs and can adapt almost any activity to fit the abilities of each camper!

Though we are constantly working to find new ways to incorporate all people into our programming we still have some limitations. Please contact camp@upwardboundcamp.org for more information on any of the following as we would like to work with you to get your camper involved in programming if possible!
Medical: We are unable to support campers who require IV medications, diabetic campers unable to check their own blood sugar levels and administer their own insulin, or campers using feeding tubes.
Behavioral: To create a safe environment for all staff and campers, we may not be able to support campers who have shown abusive/injurious behaviors to themselves and/or others in the past 6 months.
Facilities: Due to the loss of many of our buildings in the 2020 fire we are currently unable to support campers who use powered wheelchairs and/or hoyer style lifts to transfer. We ARE able to support campers who can use manual wheelchairs and are able to bear some weight in a manpowered lift/transfer.
**If you are interested in a retreat during the fall, winter, or spring we are currently only able to serve campers who can ambulate independently or with the support of a cane or walker due to the structure of the camp house.
